Dating Deal-breakers

There comes a point in any new relationship, where you have to make the decision on whether to keep going, or to call it all off before it gets too serious. So what is it that helps you make that decision? We scoured the pages of Reddit to find what had been the deal-breaker for other peoples relationships.

1. They value their friends far above you.

We're not saying you need to be their everything, and they need to abandon your friends for you - but showing that they care about you at least as much or value you as a friend too is important! If they abandon you are parties to go to talk to someone else, and cancel on dates to spend time with their friends constantly, it's probably a warning for the future!

2. They say they will call, and then they don't.

Impolite? Or where they just busy? If it happens regularly, forget worrying about it and get out of there. If your date was truly besotted by you you'd be the first thing on their mind.

3. They go to find dating advice from their friends.

If you're having trouble in your relationship, or maybe there's a small thing you need to discuss, you should go to each other and talk it through like adults. If your date feels the need to get ALL of their advice from their friend who's had a string of bad relationships, and doesn't discuss a thing with you, then it's time to run!

4. They're rude.

If, after paying you compliments, pulling you chair out, taking your coat, and offering to pay the bill, your date is then incredibly rude to the waiter for no reason, then they're not a good date! No matter how nice someone is to you, if they're not so nice to other people, don't give them a second chance, or one day you might be on the wrong side of their temper.

5. They speak badly of an ex.

Ok, so sometimes, a past relationship might deserve a little bit of spite and regret, but if your date is constantly horrible to an ex, complains about them, and is rude to them in public, there is little excuse. Firstly, you don't want to be in the middle of any arguments between them, secondly, your date should be happy they have you, not still spiteful about another relationship that went wrong, and thirdly it's a good indication that something went badly wrong in a previous relationship. There are reasons behind these things, and you might not want to find them out first hand!
